Diplomacy - First Contact Missions

Hello there!
I am rank Envoy in Diplomacy and got my first First Contact mission lately from Jiro Surosomething. I did the mission, I liked it and I'd love to do more since I am focusing on reaching rank 4. But I seem to be unable to get them. Jiro on ESD gives me only Diplomatic Investigations. How do I get more First Contact missions? The article on the gamepedia doesn't answer this question :(
And btw, is there anything else I can do to earn Diplomacy XP? I try to do assignments that appear simply in the assignments choices, but maybe there is a hidden way to get better ones? Sometimes I click the head of departments tab, then First Officer assignments, but it has usualy just the Entertain Foreign Dignitaires assignment.

Unfortunately Finka, the old Diplomatic missions (vulcan, bajor etc...) only to this day give 100 Diplomacy XP. They are cool to run if you have the time to waste but they won't give you payback.

THE BEST way to earn diplomacy is through the DOFF system. Send your duty officers on diplomatic missions and you can get thousands of diplomacy XP.

Send your doff's on some of those listed missions and you will be quite pleased.

All the missions on Vulcan etc. are not repeatable and I already did them :D
I do the assignments, I do Diplomatic Investigations daily, it just bothers me that I can't get those First Contact missions. Should I just travel to a star cluster and hope it will appear? Or contact Jiro somewhere?

They'll sometimes show up if you switch locations, but I vaguely remember there being a hidden cooldown timer. That, or Jiro is just stingy handing them out. And I had better luck finding diplo missions by skipping around known bases - I reguarly found them over in the three DS9 zones and dependent nebulae.

Yeah, most assignments are in Cardassian space.
Well, I am to lazy to travel to various clusters with only a small chance of getting this First Contact mission. Right now I just go to ESD to Jiro, get Diplomatic Investigations from him. I also see there are one or two other Diplomatic Investigations available from him in the available missions tab.

I've been told by many individuals that First Contact missions are essentially broken since Season 6 and it's been left on the bottom end of the priorities list.

For the most part, you'll be able to get your first FC mission but after that, apparently, there's a timer that never resets for some people. I've been fortunate enough to get them from time to time but I'm not sure how to reproduce the conditions.

Like Datura said, the DOFF missions are great way of leveling up your Diplomacy. I attained quite a handful of Diplomats, Advisors, and Counselors and began jumping from map to map and planning Diplomatic missions. You'll find that in Defera and in the Klingon home sector, you'll be given a lot of diplomacy missions as well.

Also, the Defera Daily is an easy method to gain minor Diplomacy XP if you have time to throw away. I typically choose the 20 hour DOFF Diplomacy Missions. And from time to time, Cryptic does the commendation bonus events. That, in unison with the tips above is how I managed to reach the 4th Tier. Good luck!

If my memory doesn´t betray me:

I think I did my last (successful) FC mission two years ago. After that I tried to do it on another toon but whenever I tried I wasn´t able to finish it bc I couldn´t interact with a NPC in the conference room.

And since one and a half year never ever a FC mission showed up for me again.

I just came back here to post what I found out.. When in sector space I get Diplomatic Investigations from Jiro Sugihara in the available missions tab. There are always three. I realised that the coolodwn for them is around half an hour or so! I bet you know it but maybe there is someone like me who didn't bother to look at the available missions till the next day to see if there are some more Investigation missions.
This is awesome because one mission is 100 diplomatic xp. That way you can get 300 in an hour if you do other stuff. I am able to gain like a 1000 in one day if I am able to play for a few hours :D I was at 74.000 two days ago, now it's almost 80.000. Yay :)
