What song moves/connects to you?

January 20 2014
Hey guys,

I thought to put a random post of what song or music moves you or feel close to you and why?

I'll start off with mine.

My song is Pink, Nobody knows.

It reminds that, no matter what others might understand only you and you alone will understand what you feel when you tired, and can't show what your heart is/was?

Next?

Sometimes, I just take my guitar and play my heart out, lost in the harmony of whatever mood I'm in.

Whenever I'm not feeling 100%, or if my self-esteem plummets as it does more often than I care to admit, I always put this one on, for it always reminds me to never give up, and sometimes it is best to pick up and not be bitter if the world leaves you feeling ruined.

The surging ensemble through the chorus also hits home, and the "hidden" track at 3:31 i can't really put into words beyond the feels that heal. :)

Usually anything Evanescence.

Right now it's

Evanescence - Bring Me To Life
Disturbed - Down with the Sickness
Marilyn Manson - This is the New S**t

It may be a little eclectic but usually that's how my mind is running.

Too many really,

Lady GaGa's Edge of Glory really speaks to me because of the lyrics and the reason why she wrote it.

Then there's also Another Hundred People from Company

Right now, as I push my business to the next level the rallying song of choice is The Man by Aloe Blacc.

Two Steps From Hell - Winterspell (Thanks Chris for that beautiful album!)
Metallica - Nothing Else Matters

Either way, I put it on my headphones and go out in the healing New Mexican air and let my emotions run through me and the earth heal me. Blessed be.

OK One more.. Like others here, i really have too many songs to list that hit home for me, but this is one that makes me appreciate the artistry that can come through in even the simplest of melodies; getting lost in Radiohead's music always gives me a good fix. :)

Annie Lennox: Walking On Broken Glass

I've totally been where she is in this song and video with my first adolescent and first adult loves:

And if I'm really in a mood to punish myself it's Faith Hill's "Cry:"

I listen to a lot of Top40 but I listen to even more classical music, so let me give you some Top40 and a classical piece.

Let's start off with the heavy one. Adagio for Strings by American composer Samuel Barber. Best associated with funerals and sadness. Played for FDR's, JFK's, and Princess Diana's respective death announcements. Also played at 2010 Winter Olympic opening ceremonies after the fatal luge crash of Nodar Kumaritashvrili.

---------------

I love this video for several reasons: dance thumpa-thumpa, David Guetta, Sia, beautiful cinematography, and the elegance of wolves (as a Husky dog owner).

----------------

Okay, one more, this one always gets me pumped. Turn it up!

I have this one song I frequently listen to before a night out ... but I think the memories of being there add to that;

Here are a few favorites of mine:

I have quite an eclectic taste for music so there's a very long list, these are a few old and new ones :P

There's a certain innocence to this piece, and the way it unfolds and expands, that reminds me of awakening and of hope.
