It looks like the bill has been stalled in parliament, according to news sources:

http://m.allafrica.com/stories/201212150001.html/

though it's scheduled to be voted on in February. This woman is truly brave for speaking up, in the face of current and proposed laws. It's truly sad that this sort of discrimination is endorsed at a governmental level in so many places across the world. Hopefully people like her will be the catalyst for change there, in the near future.

Makes me ask myself if I do enough for people like me, who don't enjoy the freedoms that I do. How does one tackle issues that are so much bigger than them?

Thanks for sharing :)

What an amazing woman. Her eloquence does herself justice.

I truly hope that "Kill the Gays" bill isn't passed. It's such a horrendous bill and the part that Americans have played in its creation is horrible. I sign all those online petitions and what not, but who knows how little that's even taken into account.

Wow, the bravery of some people just amazes me. I for one could not be anywhere near as brave as this woman who although she goes by an alias, still gave enough information about herself to enable someone that wanted to identify her to be able to do so. I wish her well and truly hope she hasn't endangered herself with her eloquent writing. I know the people behind this legislation will eventually pay for what they are doing but how many people will suffer before that comes to pass? :(

Thank you so much for sharing, kiriamaya! :cheer:
