To my British guildies

December 06 2011
I will be traveling to Exeter this weekend and am wondering if anyone has recommendations for things I should definitely see (or avoid). I've been to England many times before, but this will be my first time in Exeter/Devon. Any tips would be very welcome. Thanks!

Never really been to Exeter, but Devon is a very pretty county and quite popular with the surfing crowd. I live across the Bristol channel.in Wales though. Highest castles-to-land ratio on Earth if you ever come here! :)

I'll have to try Wales when I go to the UK in 2012. They don't have a lot of castles here in the US ;)

The only two I can think of are owned by the guy whose hat you're wearing in your avatar. ;)

haha, the only other one I know of is when I lived in the U.S, I went to NYC for spring break. There's a little one in central park, that be about it!

I really enjoyed my time in Wales. I competed in the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen back in my university days. Lovely country and really lovely people.

I actually think I'll be driving past Newport on my way to Tewkesbury after my time in Exeter. I'm on a concert tour starting in Cornwall and finishing in Yorkshire. Nothing like driving around England in December =P

Exactly! And tho castles are tiny and hollow, just like a lot of stuff at mouse land :)

Btw, English drivers on the motorways are crazy! I am going 80mph in the middle lane and little old ladies are *zooming* past me on the right. At least they are all passing on the right, a concept totally lost on Virginia drivers..

ceoltoir, don't forget, we Americans buy things that we don't know how to operate (ie. buying cars that we don't know how to drive) :P
