Another one, showing gameplay. Again, apologies if everyone has already seen this. It's new to me.

I think it looks great. Although, my co-workers at
Massively got to test it and they were underwhelmed, they said =\ not up to what they though it would be like

Part of me is excited and can't wait for the game to come out. The other part of me is so burnt out from playing World of Warcraft that I really don't want to play something similar to it. And from what I've read SW:TOR plays a lot like WoW. So I have mixed emotions. :-\

Hearing about these dark and light side points makes me wonder where they are going with it. Surely not new abilities because it would blur the lines between the sides too much. Perhaps some kind of reputation maybe...?

That looks REALLY REALLY fun!

Shame that they've opted for the Starfox option for space combat.

TERA online's combat will play a bit like Rusty Hearts'.

I wouldn't go breaking the NDA on SW:TOR, though, banning would be the least of your worries. In the NDA agreement, I'm sure there's lots of legal fidgy widginess that would allow them to sue you if you broke it.

Okay, if no one else has said it, I'm going to post what everyone else is thinking...

I can has your beta account, please? ;-)

I know the gameplay has been "WoWerized", but I'm hoping they haven't left the KOTOR formula completely in the dust as far as the natural progression of missions. If they've fallen into the old "mission contact hub" trope, I'm going to be very disappointed.

The first time I hear, "Wait, I have to run back to town to get a mission," I am going to be giving BioWare the stink eye.

Hard for me to say, but I'm pretty sure I want to start with the non-Force users on the light side. Almost certainly the Republic Trooper (Commando) then maybe a Smuggler (Gunslinger). Once I've given those some time I'll likely give the Force-users a try.

MikeyNY also helped the decision since at the very least, I'll be running a duo with him at all times. He seems to be drawn to one of the two Jedi (though I know he has a Dark side too, but my Light side nature will force that to be an alt for us).

I've been dying for a KOTOR sequel after they did Mass Effect, so if this lives up to the idea that this really is KOTOR 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, & 10 (emphasis on natural story progression vs. mission/level grinding, with highly unique storylines for each class), I will be a very happy camper.

I dunno... I will probably be playing on the Dark Side, myself. ;)

Still, though... Be nice if they would make space combat multi-player... And free-roam.

But even though I dislike the space combat system they've chosen to use (Starfox 64), I'm probably going to choose to play an Imperial Agent simply for their super cool Phantom starship. xD

=edit=

Though, being an altaholic, I'll probably make a Bounty Hunter and Trooper, as well. :p

That's the only real negative about the game to me as well, I was hoping for a space system more like in SWG, or even that old game Freelancer.
Well, that and there doesn't appear to be class that's both Support and DPS, like the one I was playing in SWG (Officer). So I'm looking at either Gunslinger Smuggler and/or whichever branch of Trooper has Combat Medic. But I'm still excited, especially because it looks like it won't take an hour to get buffed for a raid now! :P

Welcome to the Stonewall forums! ^.^

It's lucky the game comes so long after the masses dropped SWG, otherwise SW:TOR's pathetic space combat mechanics would have been laughed out of the business. :P

Don't forget, SWG didn't ship with ANY kind of space component. You simply went from planet to planet like we Teleport in STO (except you had to haul your... umm.. backside... to the nearest starport. But while SWG's space component may have been much less limiting than SWTOR's, it sounds like SWTOR's focus will be on individual interaction and story (like KOTOR was) and SWG can't compete with that.

Hell, when we started following SWTOR, we didn't even know if we'd have SHIPS, much less any space component. Besides, it'll give you a reason to keep STO around. ;-)

As for the classes... I do have to say... the Dark Side has all the best looking ships and I'm none too thrilled about that. ;-)

the interview i saw they said the dark side and light side poitns effect how your companiona relate to you. They said that it wont effect your side the example they gave would be equivelant to a WW2 solider doing his job and saving lives (light) to a WW2 solider keeping a nazi in his basement and torturing him (dark)
