Stargate Universe Series Finale

Yestarday, SGU's Series Finale aired.

It was an all and all decent ending. At least it wasn't a cliff hanger like Atlantis was, but in the end it was an ending. I'm rather sad to see it go. I think the storylines and episodes in the second season where some of the best Stargate, nay, best sci-fi I've ever seen. Based on the first season, I wasn't surprised they decided to cancel it, but the show really matured in the second season. I have hopes for a tv movie that finishes out the storyline, but I doubt that'll ever happen; it didn't even happen for Atlantis.

So what did you all think of it?

I for one am sad to see the series ending, and all the movies scraped :( Enjoyed SGU more than SG1 and Atlantis.

Here's hoping for a reboot in a couple years time.

Man.. this was an awesome SG series , shame it had to end after 2 seasons :(

I agree, this was one of my favorite sci-fi series of all time... I liked that it was dark and gritty. One of the things that always annoyed me about SG-1 and SGA was that they cheated too much with all their advanced technology but still tried to pull-off the "modern day" Earth.

(On a side note: I liked Chloe a lot more in the second season.)

still part way through season 2 in the UK. I'm sad its ending coz season 2 so far has been good. Still think it took too long to establish parameters in the first season, probs why people gave up on it.

I mean taking a season and a bit to discover the bridge? hello!!!

I was a fan since it was first aired.

Season one was mostly disappointing... But season two was a dramatic improvement. Sorry to see it go... :(

I agree it's not an end to a story line.

It was more like hitting the pause button on your remote and then taking the batteries out realizing after the fact that you can't replace them....

The episode was just shown tonight here. It's so sad. Brilliant stories, engrossing viewing. I will miss it

I'm kind of sad to see the series go.

They were in production of a SGA movie, but had to stop production due to budget issues. With the economy picking back up, here's hoping they resume production.

I too was not hapy with the open ending. I do hope that either they pick SGU up for either another season sometime in the future to wrap things up, or possibly make a movie... but thats looking less likely every day.

At least the new Star Trek movie has started production, giving us something to look foward to next year.

I really liked the darker BSG-like tone of SGU but the first season was a bit directionless. I realize that they were trying to build a good foundation for the later seasons. TV networks these days have no patience whatsoever. The way they ended it did seem like it could be set up for another season or a movie, we can only hope.
