Stonewall Fleet - Crossover?

Hello my fellow fleeties,

I wanted to get everyones opinion on an idea which has surfaced many times in the chatrooms and on Vent. Would Stonewall fleet be able to continue in other MMOs?

Many guilds and fleets have successfully crossed over from one game to another. As a GLBTA fleet, we have more in common than just our love of Star Trek, and since I can see a day when I will be playing other MMOs, I don't particularly want to have to go through the long process of finding a welcoming and open minded fleet/guild to join. If enough of our members are playing or intending to play another MMO, Star Wars for example, would you like to see Stonewall Fleet set up a presence in the game?

STO would of course remain our main focus and members who choose not to play another MMO should never feel like they are missing out. Please let me know if this is a good or bad idea, how you think it might work and if there are any upcoming MMOs you think Stonewall Fleet could crossover into.

I'm a member of the Sturmgrenadier Gaming Syndicate and play on their Lord of the Rings Online portal. You may want to log onto sturmgrenadier.com and browse the site to get some idea of how a multi-game guild might work. I'd love to see Stonewall on LoTRO.

I'm playing Age of Conan again and am absolutely loving it. After a disastrous launch the game really has bounced back. I thought I was going to cancel my sub once I got the lifetime account for STO but it's too good of a game to quit.

There was a gay guild on the Wiccana server named "Clan of the Evening Wolf." Unfortunately the problems that plagued the game when it launched pretty much killed the guild due to so many players quitting. If there was a game that really could use a GLBT guild I would definitely suggest Age of Conan. Yes, the world of Conan is pretty much a hetero paradise, given it's busty, lusty half-clothed females and such. But it's also one of the most homoerotic. Need proof? Here's an alt I recently started, a dual-weapon-wielding barbarian by the name of Aeraoch.

If we did create other guilds in other games, if there is a large enough contingent of GLBT players for a game, they should have their own specific leadership, while still sharing the website, maybe vent, and a couple other things. I wouldn't want to over tax the officer's we already and I wouldn't want to provide a sub-par guild experience for the others.

The only time I wouldn't want to do this is when there is already a stable GLBT guild. I would much rather us assist and support an already functioning GLBT guild rather than compete with it.

id say yes to this as well, i currently interested in ff 14 and the star wars upcoming game. it would be awsome to play with the same people and see us grow, i know growing can cause lots of pain so we should proceed slowly and with the great guidiance of our leaders :)

I'm glad that response to this idea has been so positive. Like I said in my starter post, we will not be moving our main focus from Star Trek Online, but as we do have members who play other MMO's it would be strange if we ignored that.

Nick has already created a group called "Knights of Stonewall" for members who are planning to play Star Wars: The Old Republic when it is released next year. Please feel free to create your own group based on your favourite game so you can meet other interested members and talk, post pictures and videos about that game. Please remember to make your group free for anyone to join.

To access the groups section of the site, hover over the Network tab at the top of the screen and select Groups from the drop down menu.

If we see a lot of interest in a game that has no Stonewall Fleet like guild, we can then consider creating an official presence there.

I think it would be great to have Stonewall in multiple MMO's. Who knows, I might even be tempted back to WoW if Stonewall were there :blink: . Definitely would like to see us in Star Wars.

there's a very large gay guild called stonewall champions in wow that's been around for years, alliance side on the proudmoore server (http://www.stonewallchampions.org/) ... i actually thought this guild might have been an extension of it but obviously not. :-P

that said, i think it's a great idea to extend to other mmos. i'm dying to see sw:tor when it comes out and it would be nice to start w/ other people that i've already gotten to know.

We're talking about how we want to do this, but we're more than likely going to branch off into ST:TOR. I started a group for those that are interested in playing. We'll keep everyone update with it.
