OOC: On Calculating Stardates
In case you want to use Stardates in your Captain's Logs or other RP, you can use one of the following link to get the Stardate. Thanks to Brandon (bfelczer) for supplying it!

Stardates for the Star Trek universe are actually calculated based on the day an episode first airs in our time. However, STO has accelerated the ST universe by 23 years. It takes place 30 years after Nemesis, which premiered 7 years ago. With that in mind, to get the current Stardate for STO, you have to tell the calculator that the current year is 2033, not 2010. This will give you the current Stardate for 2409, which is when STO takes place.
Also note that this is the method for Stardates in the main Star Trek universe. For the alternate universe of the most recent movie, Stardates are much simpler and use the Gregorian calendar: YYYY.DDD So for example, in that universe, the Stardate 2233.04 refers to Feb 9 (the 40th day) of 2233.
