{Spoilers Alert!!} Fear The Walking Dead

August 31 2015
The Walking Dead had a strange trend of introducing a black guy and immediately killing them off. Or introducing a Black guy and then killing of the current "main character" black guy.

Hopefully similar things don't happen in FTWD. It's a strange one though because if the scripts call for them to die it's kinda backwards racist to not kill them because they are black.

Anywaaaaay back to the episode.

I loved it. It was awesome. The only thing I kinda hate about it is that they are refusing to tell the bloody kids whats going on. The daughter (I really need to learn names) was literally shouting "whats going on? Whats gotten into you guys?" and because they didn't tell her she kept trying to go outside.

It's like maybe she stay inside if you told her that the worlds gone to hell.

I love the pacing, I love the characters, I love the drama. I hope it continues to be this good.

Just watched the second episode and it was really good. Defiantly speed things up a bit, but not too much. Both black guys die. Really? Not only is that cliche, but it's damn racist.

Yeah just finished it myself, its defiantly picking up speed, looks like they are in danger form their "Walker" neighbor too. Don't think it was intentional racism, just happens the actors playing the characters were black

CAPTAIN VOLERON BIOGRAPHY
MIRROR UNIVERSE VERSION
(Prime Universe Biography Link)

Tears of agony swelled in the canthus of Voleron's left eye as he lay naked and semirecumbent on the lounger in his cabin, biting down with all of his might on the dark leather calf-strap that he gripped powerfully with his jaw. His face blistered red as he tried vainly to measure his rapid breaths, in spite of the excruciating pain swelling in his abdomen.

Voleron had been a shrewd officer throughout his service, utilizing his cunning not only to advance in rank, but to also cleverly spare himself from the agony booth and the many other forms of inquisition-style torment that the Empire practiced on it's officers and crew. He now thought to himself that having escaped these punishments, had unfortunately left him woefully unprepared for the barbaric self mutilation he was now to perform.

Suddenly, Voleron's left molar buckled under the accumulating pressure of his grinding teeth, sending the jagged edges of the fractured bone into his gums. The iron taste of blood filled his mouth as he gasped for air, though he dared not release the excruciating scream that he so desired to bellow, the escape of which would surely alert his personal guard of something untoward taking place.

For five years, the Emperor had taken a personal interest in Voleron's growing list of achievements within the rebuilt Terran Empire, concerning himself specifically with the increasing admiration and influence that Voleron enjoyed among the rank and file members of the Empire. The Emperor's concerns had culminated in today's dreaded ceremony before the crew, in which Voleron was to be honored for his commitment to the glory of the Empire. The Emperor's "gift" to him had been none other than the Odan symbiont, the involuntary joining with which, Voleron had been forced to accept with feigned reverence.

The Odan symbiont had, for three generations been joined with Trill who had been fiercely loyal to the Emperor. They say that the joining changes the host, and Voleron recognized this "gift" that so many Trill desired, as the insidious control mechanism that it was really intended to be, all but guaranteeing the Emperor another intensely loyal subject who was well placed and exalted by the troops. The successful joining would mean a great deal of power and security for the Emperor, a reality that ran contrary to Voleron's furtive goal of assassinating him in a murderous fury.

It had been just over an hour since the surgeons had inserted the symbiont into Voleron's body. He could already feel himself losing control over his own distinct personality, which was being assaulted by the combined will of the trinity of previous hosts. Voleron knew that once the symbiont had been fully integrated into his own anatomy, separating the creature from his body would be fatal. It would only be a matter of hours now, until the merging was complete. Voleron, knowing what he must do, re-committed himself to the excruciating process and plunged the scalpel held by his trembling hand, deeper into his abdominal cavity. The torrent of escaping blood filled Voleron's hands, but coagulated quickly, leaving a sticky residue that impeded his agility with the blade. However, having repeatedly studied and practiced the procedure in the months preceding this critical moment, Voleron skilfully excavated the creature from his peritoneal cavity, throwing the treacherous parasite on the floor in front of him. A barrage of pain shot in consecutive surges through Voleron's nervous system, while he struggled to expeditiously apply a large autosuture to his exposed midsection. Voleron collapsed to the floor on his hands and knees, his chiseled, naked body convulsing in tormenting pain, while blood dripped slowly from his gaping mouth. Managing barely to reach for his nearby phase pistol, Voleron took aim at the symbiont with the weapon and pulled the trigger, incinerating the wretched barnacle where it lay and causing the release of high pitched shrieks as it burned.

Exhausted from the struggle, Voleron lay chest down on the floor of his cabin, with his phaser still in hand. As he contended with the agony of what he'd just endured, his thoughts turned to those of vengeance for his lover, murdered at the iron hand of the Emperor. Like a snake in the grass, Voleron knew that he need now only wait patiently for the perfect opportunity to strike his unsuspecting adversary. Although Voleron didn't specifically seek power, he predicted that as a consequence of his plan, control of the entire Empire might soon be thrust upon him... unless his plan were to fail. Failure was not an option. His life and the lives of his crew would soon hang in the balance. But until then, the ship's mission had to go on as planned, so as not to arouse suspicion. Voleron tapped the nearby intercom panel: "Voleron to bridge" he spat... "set a course for the Tekara system and engage at warp 5" he barely managed before terminating the channel and once again collapsing helplessly on the floor.

Existence in this universe rested solely on a person's daily ability to stay one step ahead of their adversary, and today, he'd earned his entitlement to another day of survival, Voleron reasoned, before finally fading out of consciousness on the frigid deck plating.

Mine was Karateka. It's an old 8-bit game that my brother and I played on our DOS computer. We loved it, but always got killed by the gate. Could never get passed it. Finally thought to look up how to beat it a few years ago and found out how simple it was.

After that, it was SimCity 2000 which I spent so much time on and Age of Empires, the original. Age of Empires though was the game that really got me into gaming. I love the strategy of it. I've played every AoE game since (even the crappy mobile one that's out now).

It's a bit messy right now, but here's my "geek room" as my partner likes to call it. It's on the 3rd floor on the house, so I needed to buy a mobile A/C for those humid Baltimore summers.

The Received Wisdom in the various forums is that the Rom Rep scorpion are tied for the best ship-non-specific pets, especially for unshielded targets like the Borg structures in the STFs and the Crystalline Entity, and that the Spire Obelisk Swarmers are the other option.

From there, everyone has a different favorite. Because the piloting AI for the pets is...not optimized, shall we say, beams will be more friendly than cannons. Yellowstones are really good, especially for crowd control. I've heard that Delta Flyers help if you're flying a torpedo boat. I've had good luck with the Nukara rep pets, too.

The laundry list (though it's missing the Krenim-specific and maybe Xindi-specific) is at http://sto.gamepedia.com/Carrier_Pets

The part-Trill Admiral Claire Lasserre, who became the center in a scandal of half-Humans who had surgically altered their appearance to disguise any non-Human physical traits last year, has announced a take over of well known vacation planet Risa. The Risain government however has denied any kind of change of this manner and is calling for talks to avoid any bloodshed. Tickets for Bridge-seats on the I.S.S. Sinful Pleasure during the battle will cost 5 million PC (Pizza Credits), other tickets to watch the battle from the ship wil cost 3 million PC and tickets to watch the battle from other ships will be 1 million PC.
Trusted inside source claims Iconian mercenaries are being "hired" to defend Risa to spice up the battle!

[EVENT] MIRROR BIOs (Part Of Reflection Day)

Name: Niko Lunatra

Rank: Captain

Current Command: I.S.S. Cohen

Species: Tri’nel: A species with telepathic abilities and longer than human life spans. The Tri’nel are divided heavily into a cast system with their warrior cast currently controlling their society. Only contact with this species is from a handful of colony worlds they conquered in the former Caitian star territories.

Biography: Captain Lunatra began life in a manner that was by most definitions rough. Having been born an outcast to her people with a body that, was not strictly female or male. Given over to her colonies pleasure districts, forced into task of labor considered degrading even for slaves or prisoners. Lunatra became self-educated, stealing data pads that clients would forget in rooms or be careless enough to leave lying about. Over the formative years of her life she struggled with her identity at times till an incident pushed her along a path that would dominate her life.
A drunken scientist working on a design for radiological weapons found himself sub coming to the effects of heavy drink leaving his possessions and research unguarded. While rifling through his work Lunatra found samples of the radiological weapon and took them after fiddling with one to a point it opened, releasing its contents upon the drunkard. In the following days Lunatra watched as this man she was later forced to remove from the building withered away in a matter of days under the effect of his own work. Taking his research and other samples to the hole underground that was her hidden dwelling, she studied.
In time Lunatra would disappear completely from her people, stealing supplies as needed, ever working to push her knowledge forward. She eventually deemed that a practical test of her research was needed, leading to the release of a radiological weapon upon the area that had once been her tortured home. Her weapon worked far better than anticipated, the agonizing wails of thousands sung to her below ground as their bodies fell apart from her radiation. The effect of the weapon proved greater than what was first theorized spreading to the surrounding district. In a span of days half of her cities population had fallen to her weapon. Death was at her fingertips and its power lashed her into greater fits of research.
Lunatra focused her research in further weaponing her radiation, first to come from this string of research where hand held weapons that would deliver focused bolts or beams of ionized radiation. Testing them on the small vermin that scuttled about the underworking’s of her colony. From time to time over the next year a lone solder or stray from the upper world would become a target for her weapons helping to hone their effect. Supplies where dwindling fast for Lunatra forcing her to relocate to populated regions again, moving closer to areas where her skills of swiftly acquiring what she needed would prove more beneficial. Her master work soon completed, leaving herself the only shielding from her own weapon.
Ships of the Imperial Star Fleet would later pick up haunting distress calls from the colony world. When one finally investigated nothing was found other than a single woman sitting in a ruined café drinking with herself. Beside her cases of research and samples of her weapons, she hid nothing of what she had done from the humans. In the following years after her colony world was left lifeless in her wake, Lunatra would join the imperial fleet dedicating herself to them for the opportunities of research they provided her with. Ruthless and detached from the value of others’ lives Lunatra only cares about her research and the effect her weapons will have.

Character Biography

August 30 2015
Full Name: Guillaume Gaspard Lasserre
Age: 36 Earth years
Race: Human, Trill, Joined w/a Symbiont
Rank: Vice Admiral
Ship: U.S.S. Chateau Bouclier (Odyssey Class)

His fathers side a long list of explorers & admirals, dating all the way back to the late medieval ages; his mothers side all diplomats and lawyers, with even an ancestor who basically made Trill's application to the Federation possible: Lasserre got the best of both.
This unique set of genes and skills and the intelligence to match both, Lasserre had decided to join the Starfleet at a very young age, much to the approval of his parents and helped him prepare for it (without forcing him to grow before his time).

At age 15 Lasserre came home from school to a surprise. Another Trill was visiting them and it was not a family member. It turned out this Trill was a member of the board that approves people for a Symbiont and Lasserre was asked to be tested. He was found fit and joined with a new Symbiont (meaning Lasserre was this Symbiont's first host). Upon joining however (from this moment onwards, "Lasserre" refers to the joined Lasserre-Symbiont), Lasserre decided to keep the name Lasserre, since he wasn't happy with the name the Symbiont was given at birth and the Symbiont had been feeling like this even before joining. Although the tests and training for the joining resulted in Lasserre join Starfleet Academy a few years later then planned, he valued this chance more than anything else.

About ten years after his graduation, Lasserre was commander on the U.S.S. Lyssa, a Sovereign class cruiser, when his ship was trapped and boarded by Klingon raiders. Whilst Lasserre was fighting an extremely brutal room-by-room battle with the raiders (one of the officers later said it reminded him of his holodeck adventures of the World War II), they managed to board the bridge and the captain was killed. Although Lasserre was rushing through the fighting, the captain could not be safed anymore. Lasserre ordered a ship wide evacuation by transporter and set the Lyssa on a ramming course to one Klingon ship and beamed the whole Federation crew to two of the other Klingon ships (their shield were disabled during the battle), effectively taking them over by superior numbers and able to continue the battle against the remaining three warbirds. During this boarding operation, Lasserre fought a Klingon captain with a Bath'let, almost resulting in him getting killed. Lasserre decided he wanted the scar to remain visible, and so it dominates the right side of his face to this day.

This whole ordeal earned him a promotion and a new ship, the Odyssey class U.S.S. Chateau Bouclier.
