Recording STO

Hi everyone! How is it going today? Beautiful day out there! But I am staying in to play STO lol. I have a question about recording the game. I have tried a couple types of software to record my adventures in STO and all I am getting is a video of a black screen with sound. Is there a recording software package that works with Star Trek Online?

Thanks :cheer:

I believe there is a native tool called Demo Record that lets you record within STO. I've never used it before but maybe give that a try?

That means there is a built in recorder? I am having problems figuring it out but I will keep working on it. Thank You so much :)

FRAPS is pretty good at video recording your stuff too!

Yeah, if you're just interested in recording what's on your screen when you play, then FRAPS is the best program to use. If you're wanting to use different camera angles and record a movie of your activities in STO, you can use the built in demorecord feature. Some examples of what demorecord can do, are some fleet event trailers that can be found in the first post in this thread under the event trailer heading:

Using FRAPS is as easy as hitting a button to record what you see on screen, while demorecord has a much steeper learning curve, but you can find tutorials on YouTube if you'd like to learn about it.

Good luck!
