William Shatner, may appear in Star Trek 3. He has confirmed he is interested in reprising the role.

No, please no. It's bad enough the movie is being gifted to a first time Director.

For me = A Tier 5U TOS Constitution in STO, no problem!

William Shatner in the Trek reboot, just no.

Love the idea, but alas, I am torn.

On one hand, This is the one and only James T. Kirk, himself. If he's willing to reprise the role, then he should.

On the other...the dude is 83 years old. I suppose they could work something into the story...very, very carefully.

Color me curious, and maybe a little excited. :)

I don't see the problem either with William Shatner showing up in the new movie, but.....didn't he die? Don't tell me they're going to Days of Future past the original timeline....

I thought that an aspect of a person continues to exist in the Nexus. Regardless, this may be the movie that closes this alternate timeline.

Kirk died in Star Trek: Generations. The events of that movie may never happen in the rebooted timeline thus kirk could still live to a ripe old age. Incidentally he's pretty spry for 83 year old. Most of his original series costars have to get around the Vegas convention on those little scooters but you see him walking around with his camera crew at a very brisk pace. He may not be able to fit into any of his old uniforms anymore but he's still got plenty of energy.

I'm a little ambivalent too, I mean he's Kirk and always will be. But he's spent the years of his recent career being the funny guy and not trying to be a sex symbol anymore (thank Kahless). I suppose I have to re-tune my perception of him in order to "see" him as Kirk again and not Denny Crane or The Big Giant Head.

I was moved to tears seeing Leonard Nimoy in the Trek reboots, but let's keep William Shatner in The Nexus. If he misses Star Trek that much, he's welcome aboard STO! B)

If you are looking for some good stories directly following the Generations movie you should check out the Odyssey Series by William Shatner. It tells the story of what happens to Kirk. I enjoyed it.

I read those books too, they were good. Cowritten by the Shat-meister, so a bit of an ego trip, but good stories nonetheless.

Anything is better than "Generations".
All kirk had been through, all the battles he fought and won, the life threatening encounters ..
And he gets killed with a metal walkway falling in him..

Not to mention poor Ent-D :-(

Yeah definitely, I think Kirk deserved a much more heroic death.
