Yourovision 2019 Heavy Betting Game

Take your chance to win up to 100 million EC in this years Heavy Betting Game!

Make bets on the results of the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Who will win? Who will get the least points? Which place will a certain country make?
Also predict the qualification results from the Semifinals to get a bonus. Here are the rules of this years Yourovision Heavy Betting Game:






Step One - Predict Semifinal Qualifications
Starting from April 12th, one month before the in-game-event, place your bets on the qualifications from the Semifinals (10 qualifiers per Semifinal) by either making a post in this thread, sending an ingame mail to TedHembach or following this link to a google online form:

Step Two - Place your Grand Final Bets!
You can place your bets for the Grand Final also in this thread after the Semi Finals took place, or, if you dare and you have enough Guramba, now!
Step Three - After the final, receive your EC winnings!

Every correct bet in the Grand Final wins! You are allowed to place 10 different bets on the results of the Grand Final on May 18th.

Three types of bets are possible:
a) Winner Bet
Predict a nation to win. You can have various winner bets with different countries. You can not bet on the same country more than one time.
b) Loser Bet
Predict a nation to receive null points (or the least amount overall) in the end result. Like with the winners, you can have several loser-bets with different nations, but only one bet per country.
c) Position Bet
Predict which nation will take a certain position, for example the second place or the fifth. Position Bets are limited to only one Postion Bet per position and per country.
You can neither put the same country in a lot of places nor can you bet on different nations in the same position. Make your mind up and bet on a set of different places and different nations!




Every correct bet with regards to the Grand Final from all players wins the same share from a pool of 50 million EC. The pool of 50 million EC gets divided in as many shares as there have been correct bets overall from all players. That means if only few people guess correctly, they win lots of EC. And if a lot of people get a lot of things right, everyone wins some EC!

Math Example:
10 correct bets overall 5 million per bet
5 correct bets overall 10 million per bet
2 correct bets overall 25 million per bet
only 1 correct bet 50 million for the one lucky bet

The five fleeties with the most correct bets will also receive 1 ship box of the following:

• Ferengi D'Kora Ship
• Tholian Orb Weaver Ship
• Voth Bastion Flight-Deck Cruiser
• Hirogen Hunter Heavy Escort
• Undine Nicor Bio-Warship

The person with the most correct bets may choose one of the ships first, then the person with the second-most correct bets chooses one of the remaing ships and so on until the person with the fifth most correct bets receives the last ship. Should there be ties in between who has the most correct bets, the person who posted their bets first chronologically will be allowed to choose first.
Note: betting on several different winners means that only one of your bets can be correct. If you bet on things that can be true simultaneously, your chances to get one of the ships might be higher.






You will also have the opportunity to predict the qualifications from the Semifinals and guess which ten nations are going to qualify from each Semifinal. For every correctly predicted qualification, you will receive a bonus modificator on the amount of EC you can win with your bets on the Grand Final. For every correct prediction, that predictions number is added as a bonus.

If you predict one qualification correctly, you get 1% bonus added. Betting right on two qualifications, you will receive the 1% from the first one and additional 2% bonus for the second one. So two correct predictions give 3% bonus. The third correct prediction adds another 3% and now you would receive 6% bonus EC to your final win. With a fourth correct prediction, you would receive 10% bonus. This adds up until, in case you predicted all ten qualifiers from this Semifinal correctly, you would receive 55% bonus from one Semifinal to your Grand Final win.

Math Example:

If you won 1 million from the 50-million-pool of the Grand Final and predicted
4 qualifiers from the Semifinals, you receive (1+2+3+4 = 10)
10% bonus which gives you a final sum of (1 million + 10%)
1.100.000 EC winning prize.
Had you predicted all 20 qualifiers from both semifinals correctly, you would receive
110% bonus which would turn your 1 million base win from the pool into 2.100.000 EC in the result.

If one person gets the complete pool 50.000.000 EC
and predicts all Semi Qalifications correctly 2 x 55% bonus
that would result in winnings of 105.000.000 EC

I do agree with hippie... the quality of the contestants in the second semi-finals is way higher than in the first. As long as the Netherlands qualify I'll be a happy little Chipz.

Here are my guesses for the semi-finals... from the first category I had picked 11 and had a really tough time cutting one song!  Iceland's entry is insane; I was rofling the entire time I watched it, but it was such a train wreck that I couldn't stop watching it and voted for them for kicks!  Russia's ended up being one of my favorites!

Hey folks, this is planet Anarchi-A calling, we are fascinated by this Eurovision Song Contest Thing!
And before I come to my guesses I wanna say I find it incredibly hard to predict this year. So many variables in play with who's gonna score saturday night! Hackers? Children? Fans? Turks? Grandmas?

I'm just pretty sure we're in for surprises. I don't know. Europe is strange these days, you never know. So I'm just going for some wild guesses and I'm gonna leave out Russia and Azerbaijan completely. I think they're gonna score somewhere in Top 10 but I just can't tell where. Similar for France, soooo hard to say what's probably gonna happen. Will these three get lost because their songs are not strong, or will they get carried by interest votes who don't actually have anything to do with the song? All three good singers with a not-so-strong song and stagings that have a risk of reaching too small parts of the audience, missing the mass you need to place really high. Hard to say here what bloc-voting will be able to do! So I decided to leave these three out.

Now here are my bets:

Loser Bet    for    Germany
    because they aren't even sisters, their staging is not so good and one of them is off-key sometimes.

Loser Bet    for    Slovenia
    because they told everyone they don't want to be there. Give your spot to people who'd love that chance, then!

14th place    for     Israel
    Betting odds see Kobi at the end BUT I think the host nation will collect a few votes everywhere.

7th place    for    Macedonia
    Love this song. Would like to see it higher up but 7th would still be Macedonias best, so go Tamara!

6th place    for    Netherlands
    I call this 'Occidentalis Karma Effect' when everyone is sure one artist will win and then too little people call.

4th place    for     Malta
    Yalala! Colours and beat and freshness. Last year loved Fuego, I think this might be this years fire.

3rd place    for    Italy
    It's my favourite song BUT traditionally juries don't give much to Italy and he can't win against them.

2nd place    for    Norway
    The semi audience loved it most, good Eurobeat with special Joik and a message, don't count them out!

Winner Bet    for     Italy
    because Soldi is my favourite. I would just love to see this win but I fear for him with the Juries.

Winner Bet    for    Australia
    So uplifting! ESC might go down under if Juries, pseudo-classic lovers and acrobatics-fans add up.

Winner Bet    for     San Marino
    No, just kidding. Not enough turks in the world to pull that off. But it's gonna be San Marinos best result!
