I've loathed Win8 since it first came out. I still feel that Windows 8 was as unnecessary as an eyeball growing out of your lung; it was a mobile OS to make their mobile platforms look less dull and had no business being on PCs. From a tech support standpoint, I absolutely dreaded callers who used Windows 8, I would have rather had to troubleshoot Microsoft BOB.

Every single version of windows seemed to remove more and more control from the user, as if we silly customers have no business fumbling around with things like IP addresses, networking, or VPNs. Windows 7 at least restored some control and made working with customers easy, but trying to navigate someone through 8 was like trying to thread a needle with a shoe, and it wasn't much better when I was doing it in person. The navigation is really counter-intuitive (intuitive based on every single version of windows previously released.) and it didn't help that I was NOT about to buy a new $#!te OS just to learn and the bell-ends who ran the company wouldn't even install it on any of the company's computers for us to learn the OS.

I am both excited and hesitant about Windows 10, though. I had read that they had streamlined everything, made everything easier to find, brought back the start menu, and made everything more user friendly.

Another reason I'm ambivalent to it, though, is because the OS is supposed to be identical on both PC and mobile devices. That's cool because what works on PC will work on phone, but it makes me hesitant because I do not want a phone OS on my PC. On the other hand, it will facilitate me abandoning the $#!te Android OS to pick up one over which I can exert more control. Assuming I CAN exert as much control over Windows 10 as I can with 7.

Of course that's the big thing. I'm being a big stick in the mud and really not wanting to have to learn a whole new OS, especially if it has the same clunky, hastily thrown together and counter-intuitive feeling as Windows 8.
