Yeah, I agree that diversity is important. Keeping the original motto would help cement links between the fleet and the knights, but I'm not averse to a new one.

Re:ST: Battlefront "Crucible"

May 05 2010
“At this time I would like to call my final witness, Lt. Margaret Matoya.” Lt. Suarez announced. A chill of dread passed over Eddie as he watched Maggie approached the bench and swore an oath of honesty. “Lieutenant, what is your standing assignment onboard the U.S.S. Pandora?”

“Chief Science Officer.”

“And are there any specific areas of research you are managing at this time?” Lt. Suarez pressed.

“Investigate the recent Borg attack on the Vega Colony, with focus on the counterattack methods utilized...including the viral attacks.” Maggie responded.

“And what viral attacks were involved in the Vega Colony battle?”

“A virus was developed that overloads the neural processor, effectively disabling the drone while it spreads to other systems. Preliminary reports suggest it would be quite effective in this process.”

“Admirals, I present the code that compiled into this virus. I would like to note that under the expansion of the Federation Charter to include synthetic life forms, the existence of this virus is in violation with the Federation Charter regarding the use of viral weapons.”

The courtroom was silent at the reveal just how exactly the charge had been defined. Edgar leaned into Rohan quickly to whisper something that seemed to trouble the JAG officer. Lt. Suarez returned to Maggie and asked a final question. “Lt. Matoya, who wrote the virus?”

“Lieutenant Calvin.”

“Thank you; no further questions.” Lt. Suarez stated as she went to sit down. Rohan stood and approached the witness stand.

“Lieutenant, how did you come to discover the name of the virus’ author?”

“It was informed to me when I received my assignment.” Maggie commented, suspecting Cmdr. Malek had intentions to discredit her.

“Did you at any time discuss the virus with Lt. Calvin?” Rohan asked, keeping a perfect poker face.

“I was under orders to interview him for my research, so yes.” She explained

Rohan turned away from her and stared at Admiral Quinn, almost defiantly. “And was there any difficulty with this discussion?”

“Yes, he refused to discuss the situation until Captain Oren-De ordered him to comply.” There was a murmur from the crowd, prompting Admiral T’nae to speak.

“Commander, what is the purpose of incriminating your client further with this line of questioning?”

“I’m getting to that Admiral, if I may have a few more moments?”

“Get to your point quickly, Commander. Lieutenant, answer the question.”

Eddie and Maggie shared a moment of locked eye contact, both knowing why he was so difficult, and knowing how it changed the direction everything would go. “Lt. Calvin was...under Admiral Quinn and Admiral Giovanni’s orders to not discuss anything until the inquiry was completed.”

Eddie raised an eyebrow at Admiral Quinn, watching how the statement sunk through the other Admirals’ minds. Rohan continued, “Logically speaking, Lieutenant, would you say then that the information received about the virus was not received through the standard protocols and the proper channels, including the interview?”

Maggie glared at Rohan and at Eddie. “Given the established facts...yes.”

“Admirals, I request Lt. Matoya’s testimony, her interview documentation, and the research reports she has compiled be removed from evidence of this trial.”

“Objection! That information is valid and not contrived!” Lt. Suarez slammed her hands down as she stood from her seat.

“Sustained, the majority of this information is still relevant and could be considered inevitable discovery.” Admiral Zelle stated attempting to speak for the entire panel.

“No, we can’t be sure of that without further information.” Admiral Quinn protested.

“That is a bias to protect your command skills. I advise it remain.” Admiral T’nae shot back.

“Admirals, I will not allow this panel to degrade into a political debate. We will remove the testimony and evidence until such a time that an alternative method would have been proven to reveal this information.”

“I have no further questions for this witness, but pending future reintroduction I wish to retain the right to redirect.”

“Does the prosecution have any further witnesses?”

Lt. Suarez stood, and looked defeated, “Not at this time, however I request a continuance to allow for some time to investigate any other possible methods the information removed would be seen as inevitable discovery.”

“You have twenty four hours. Until then, we are in recess. Lt. Matoya, you may step down.” The audience began to disperse, and Maggie stormed out of the room in a huff of fury. As the admirals entered the chambers, Giovanni could be heard shouting “What the hell was that about?”

No offense, honey, but if you're shooing out your bf early so you can play STO, you may want to re-evalute your priorities :P

I'm gonna make as many of these as I can.

Don't be sorry for the question, just be sorry that I'm dumb enough to forget to include the closing date.

CLOSING DATE: Monday the 24th of May, 2010.

This will allow time for a judging panel to be randomly chosen and votes to be cast before the Times goes to press.

Of course DS9 Under Siege would end up being on the night I have the most trouble getting on :( Still, I will try very hard to be there, even if it means me showing up very late and trying to sneak past eleventy billion mobs to catch up with everyone *g*

Introducing: Knights of Stonewall

May 01 2010
Currently, there’s a good contingent of members that are planning on playing Star Wars: The Old Republic when it comes out. So far 25 people have joined the group on the Stonewall site. This is by far more people than we had when we started Stonewall Fleet. So I’ve decided to expand the fleet into Star Wars. We have at least a year until the game launches, so we’ll have plenty of time to get everything worked out and most of the ground work has been laid by Stonewall Fleet.

If we’re going to do this, we need to start advertising now. I want us to become the premier GLBT guild for Star Wars, just as we have for Star Trek. Before we started advertising, I wanted to get a new site ready for the new guild so I’ve spent the last two days putting it together and if I may say so, I’ve impressed myself. What’s really awesome about the new site is that it’s links with Stonewall Fleet’s site. This way everything to do with you, the user, is synced across both sites. New members who sign up using either www.stonewallfleet.com or www.knightsofstonewall.com will be able to log into both sites. As well, all of your profile information, all of your friends, all the events and forum posts, even your messages are accessible from both sites. This provides us the ability to have to separate guilds with one community.

Why is this important for Stonewall Fleet? Because this is our first step from just an MMO guild into a gayming community. This will allow us to grow even more. And let’s face it; the forums could use a little livening up. Don’t worry though; Star Trek Online will always be our first and main MMO.

To accommodate the new guild, we’ve added a new section to the user profile with Star Wars specific fields and we will shortly making a new forum section for the new guild available. Take a stroll over to the new site at www.knightsofstonewall.com and tell me what you think!! If you’re planning on playing Star Wars, edit your profile and declare your allegiance, Sith or Jedi!

Am a Lifer, have no problems with other people using the Captain's Table. However, for this to work, they have to offer something to it. As it stands just now, you cant really do much there. It would be nice to get some exclusive gear or some sort of functionality.

Other than this, quite impressed about what they are planning and cant wait to find out about these friend rewards. I might hold off giving out my buddy key!
