I know :) The problem is that Saturday is usually the one day of the week my boyfriend and I can spend together, so it ends up being a matter of whether I can shoo him out by 10 or not ;)

Sorry for the dumb question, but is the deadline the last day of May, or before then?

Of course DS9 Under Siege would end up being on the night I have the most trouble getting on :( Still, I will try very hard to be there, even if it means me showing up very late and trying to sneak past eleventy billion mobs to catch up with everyone *g*

Introducing: Knights of Stonewall

May 01 2010
Currently, there’s a good contingent of members that are planning on playing Star Wars: The Old Republic when it comes out. So far 25 people have joined the group on the Stonewall site. This is by far more people than we had when we started Stonewall Fleet. So I’ve decided to expand the fleet into Star Wars. We have at least a year until the game launches, so we’ll have plenty of time to get everything worked out and most of the ground work has been laid by Stonewall Fleet.

If we’re going to do this, we need to start advertising now. I want us to become the premier GLBT guild for Star Wars, just as we have for Star Trek. Before we started advertising, I wanted to get a new site ready for the new guild so I’ve spent the last two days putting it together and if I may say so, I’ve impressed myself. What’s really awesome about the new site is that it’s links with Stonewall Fleet’s site. This way everything to do with you, the user, is synced across both sites. New members who sign up using either www.stonewallfleet.com or www.knightsofstonewall.com will be able to log into both sites. As well, all of your profile information, all of your friends, all the events and forum posts, even your messages are accessible from both sites. This provides us the ability to have to separate guilds with one community.

Why is this important for Stonewall Fleet? Because this is our first step from just an MMO guild into a gayming community. This will allow us to grow even more. And let’s face it; the forums could use a little livening up. Don’t worry though; Star Trek Online will always be our first and main MMO.

To accommodate the new guild, we’ve added a new section to the user profile with Star Wars specific fields and we will shortly making a new forum section for the new guild available. Take a stroll over to the new site at www.knightsofstonewall.com and tell me what you think!! If you’re planning on playing Star Wars, edit your profile and declare your allegiance, Sith or Jedi!

Vindi, Vidi, Versace?

on a more serious note, something about diversity would be very cool.

Am a Lifer, have no problems with other people using the Captain's Table. However, for this to work, they have to offer something to it. As it stands just now, you cant really do much there. It would be nice to get some exclusive gear or some sort of functionality.

Other than this, quite impressed about what they are planning and cant wait to find out about these friend rewards. I might hold off giving out my buddy key!

Star Trek Online Promotions

April 30 2010
Received this in email this morning. Really liking the idea of the Veteran Rewards and the demo, just wish it sooner than every 100 days.

Veteran Rewards
Our sincerest thanks to players who have invested their time with us! We'd like to send some goodies your way. The more you play Star Trek Online, the more we'll give you. Free Trial Weekend
Our first free trial weekend, called the Welcome Back Weekend, is available to former players. Welcome Back Weekend features unrestricted play and begins Friday, May 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific and ends Monday, May 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific. Of course, we'll have a pre-load up early next week so everyone can get the client before the free weekend actually starts.

Refer a Friend
We want to help you bring your friends to our game. With our Refer a Friend program, you can earn rewards for introducing your buddies to Star Trek Online. You can earn special items, game time, Cryptic Points and more. The program will start on May 7.

Re:Books Books Books, We Love 'Em!

I'm huge on a huge vampire kick right now, series that I am working on are:
The Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward (8 books out)
The Night Huntress by Jeaniene Frost (4 books out)
Anita Black Vampire Executioner by Laurell K Hamilton (20 books out)

Knights of Stonewall Blurb

April 28 2010
Help me make the Knights of Stonewall Burb for the front page and the various PR places we use it. I'm not so good with the Star Wars cannon and what not. Reply below with a suggestion or a few lines. The blurb has to start with:

Knights of Stonewall is a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and straight ally guild for the Star Wars: The Old Republic online universe.

What's next?

Knights of Stonewall Moto?

April 28 2010
What should the moto be for Knights of Stonewall? Should we stick with Strength in Diversity or go with something different for the new guild?

For Sci-Fi
Ender's Game/Speaker for the Dead - Orson Scott Card. Both excellent, but for different reasons.
Startide Rising/Uplift War - David Brin. Probability Drive FTW. Also try Sundiver as the prequel to Startide.
Hyperion/Fall of Hyperion. Have not read Endymion yet.
A Fire Upon the Deep (don't remember author)
Childhood's End - Arthur C. Clarke. Awesome for dated sci-fi. Has some excellent ideas in it.
Galapagos - Kurt Vonegut

For Fantasy
Talisman - Steven King and Peter Straub. I want a werewolf best friend. Loved that book as a kid.
Imagica by Clive Barker was ok, but Weaveworld ROCKED! I think it was his best.

The only "normal" book I have read is Prince of Tides, and it was awesome. I lived in Charleston, SC for a few years and it really took me back.

Under the 'Oddities' category, I just finished Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith. For anyone who is into Jane Austen, it's a hilarious retake on the story with a great zombie twist.

Has anybody read the entire Reality Disfunction series by Anderson? If so would you recommend it? I am about 1/2 through the first book and am not sure about it yet. Mostly it's good, and I liked Fallen Dragon, but I'm not too sure on the whole "other dimensional beings take over Satan worshiping kid and make him super powerful" thing. Kinda cheesy.

I love both Terry Pratchett and Hitchiker too, I should have included them in the original list. Gotta love the Britcom.

I'm loving the suggestions guys, already building a summer reading list...
