Close, lol in the dreams id tell the sims what to do but they wouldn't do it... its like a dream that you get in a fight with a friend and wake up really mad at them....

Here's a link to their website and their trailer they used to reveal the game at Comic Con 2010. It's got elements from the original Spore game where you can custom design your creature's and then equip them. I believe it going to be an MMO, with PVP, and other RPG elements.

So, after all the fuss my b/f made about me wanting to upgrade my PC, he's now immediately decided he must now upgrade too. And spend more than me. Rude. lol

So anyhow, he's torn between two graphics cards, and has asked me to request the advice of the most techno-savvy people I know. And so I come to you. :)

The two he's choosing between are:
a Asus GeForce GTX 480 1536MB, or
a Gainward GeForce GTX 560Ti "Phantom" 2048MB.

It's not just raw power he wants an opinion on, but also value for money evaluation. So if you have time, your opinions would be very gratefully received! Love y'all!

What is dark spore supposed to be?

No they never removed the requirement for SecuROM on the retail DVD for Spore. However, I'm sure the new Dark Spore game they plan to release will probably use a system similar to what the use in most their other games like Sims.

I'm guessing that only the digital version downloaded from their store will have SecuROM. And hopefully the retail DVD's wont have SecuROM but will still need to the CD-Key method, and will always need to be in the DVD drive during start up.

But they never removed the DRM requirement for Spore.

@SaintPlazma, yeah I agree... BotF was probably the best space turn based strategy game ever released after MOOII (Master of Orion 2).

Master of Orion 3 was a complete disaster. I actually threw my copy of it in the garbage I was so pissed off with how they ruined it.

Your right, with Spore... both the Retail DVD's and the Digital copies had SecuROM. They have changed this practice with the DVD's since the DRM issue blew up ni their face and they had a class action lawsuit against them.

Funny that you wrote this thread... I had just said the same thing. I thought it was one of the best Star Trek games I've ever played.

How did you get it to work on Windows 7? I think I still have my CD's for that game! :D

Do you like to play Sims 3 with any custom content? I have over 1GB of custom content that I use in my games... and also use several game play modifications (including Vampire Overhaul, and Baxim's CORE mod).

I'm also a Spore fan but haven't played it in quite some time.

I loved Star Trek: A Final Unity. Definitely one the best Star Trek games made and god knows there have been tons of them.

I was in Beta since September, but took a few weeks to get my account set up (thanks to someone hacking my iTunes for $10k, and Chase freezing my card, and me having to wait FOREVER for them to get me the new one).

But FINALLY.. I am there!

Hehe, yeah Rickster, most of my town is gay in the Sims 3 -- best way to be! ;) Actually it seems like we have a lot of similar gaming habits.

And now I'm playing Star Trek: A Final Unity since I've gotten the old DOS version working on Windows 7. :) I've been very loyal to The Sims and Civilization since their first versions, and will continue to be -- love the expansion packs.

Did anyone ever play this game for DOS? In my opinion, it's been one of the best Star Trek games to date.

I downloaded this the other day and actually got it to work on Windows 7 -- I about fainted for joy when it actually worked. So I've been spending a lot more time playing that than STO recently. If anyone would like to get a copy, too, I'd be happy to help.

Yeah, I hated the DRM on there, it was awful! But it is such a great game. I love the thought that went into it. Sometimes I thought that certain parts of the game could be a little more robust, but I loved that certain EA-kitsch it brought to the game.

I was hoping they'd actually do something with Lt. Hawk in First Contact. In the books he is supposed to be gay. When I found out that his character was going to be in that movie, I was really exited. Way to let me down, Star Trek.

Set up your contact with Admiral Macaroni on DS9, then set the next mission objective somewhere on your custom Bajor System map. A map transition element will appear and I believe you can choose the exit point on it, choose "whole map" to beam up, but I don't think the Foundry supports going to Sector Space, then going to Bajor system, then going into your map yet.
