Meh, not worth it, imo -- it's a stress test, and I never have particularly good luck in logging on during those. ;)

Besides, I'm saving my sick days for launch, baby!

New Stress Test May 14

May 10 2012
From https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/stress/news/Stress-Test-May-14/page/1#post169238

We’ll be conducting a stress test on Monday May 14 from 11 AM to 6:00 PM PDT (-7 GMT).

This special test event is open only to Pre-Purchase customers who have registered their accounts. With your help, we can conduct important tests and address some of the issues we identified during our first Beta Weekend Event. During this event, all you need to do is play normally with a new or existing character on your Beta account using the same game client. Please note that since this is a stress test of our servers, you may experience some in-game performance issues. If you’ve pre-purchased Guild Wars 2 and wish to participate in the stress test, we recommend that you register the account and download the game client.

Pre-Purchase customers, log in to the Beta Forums for more information and/or to download the Beta client if needed.

Having issues logging in? Contact Support: https://support.guildwars2.com/

I won't be able to log on that day due to work obligations, but hopefully the rest of you will be able to!

Yeah, it is pretty obvious that there are less people playing than before but it is an awesome game and we have an awesome group! I'm so glad that many of you all are willing and able to help when we ask for assistance in the guild chat even though it doesn't always benefits your characters directly. You all are amazing!

SW:TOR subscriber numbers fall

May 09 2012
Hi everybody,

I got a bit of a shock today when I saw an article on the BBC news website about SW:TOR and that they have lost 25% of their subscribers. Here is a link to the article:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-17989756

My shock is that the BBC reported on something that almost everyone already knew... again, lol.

It's normal for games to lose their initial popularity and for the population to drop. I'm not sure if 25% is common, but I just wanted to post this so everyone knows they are not alone is finding the servers a bit empty lately. The launch of the game servers for Asia and Australia are also a factor in the drop in our server's activity.

However, I am confident that things will pick up as they always do, and until then we can enjoy the benefits of having a close knit Stonewall Community Guild in what I think is one of the best games out there right now! Knights and Lords of Stonewall has has been two years in the making, we are going strong, and we are not going anywhere. ;)

Re: Guild Bank Tidying

May 09 2012
Thanks Bolts! For the donation and the help. I'm useless at knowing what might be worth keeping, but if we have 5 pairs of the same boots, it sounds like no-one wants them, lol.

If you run into any trouble with the withdrawal limit or need anything just let me or KiddKasper know.

At this stage in the game we don't have many active low level characters in the guilds, and while they are the characters that need the most help with stuff, it's great that we can now give items we can't use to other guildmates at any level. I'm glad we have people like you who know enough to convert some of the less useful items into credits for the guild.

I check the guild banks regularly for the credit amounts so we can open up a second tab in each bank as soon as possible. However if you notice the guild funds have gone over a million credits then send me a PM on the site so I can get the second tab open asap!

Re: Guild Bank Tidying

Sounds good to me. I'll start keeping an eye on it as well and doing the same if no one has a problem with it. Some of the most useful stuff I've found for my toons in the banks are crafting materials, item modifications, and schematics. Occasionally I'll find a nice item of clothing, but mainly it's the modifications for orange items.

Guild Bank Tidying

May 08 2012
I'm taking it on meself to occasionally tidy up our guild banks so there remains room to deposit items. I'll be removing and selling common green items that just take up space, and redepositing the credits from the sales. I'm leaving green offhand items, belts and wrists, though, as they can actually be useful as you level for yourself or your companion. But 5 pairs of lvl 16-37 green boots? Not real useful, imho. If anyone disagrees please tell me in game or on the forums. My forum name in member notes is Bolts (obviously), and I'm on much too much.

Until we have a 2nd tab extraneous greens aren't very helpful. I will start tithing to the gbank a bit more. Just put in 150k today, so we can get that second tab.

Advanced Magenta Vehemence Crystal -- aka the pink

May 06 2012
Istakhr, my imperial main learned the pattern to Advanced Magenta Vehemence Crystal (+16 power, usuable by levels 31 and higher). This is the pink light saber crystal. Note, this is not the lvl 50 version that requires a rather complex series of steps to just get a gem.

Components:

4 Ice-Jewel

4 Sunblaze

1 Pristine Adegan Crystal

4 Ancient Artifact Fragment

The Adegan crystal is the complicated part, they are farmed on a random, two hour timer in three locations on Alderaan, and then refined by a 400 artificer on Korriban into the prisine ones needed for the final crystal.

If you would like a pink color crystal, send the mats and a Rough Magenta Crystal Shard (I do believe that they are boe, if not post here, but I did not see anything on them saying otherwise) and I will gladly create one of these pink crystals for you, at no charge. And remember, if you have Legacy, these crystals can be mailed between your faction's toons.

Happy hunting.

Re: dynamic events

May 06 2012
I really love doing Dynamic Events, especially the ones that trigger long chains of events (I don't think there's enough chain events in the early levels, I hope they become more frequent).

I feel a little disappointed when I manage to fill a "heart" without taking part in an Dynamic Event. It's obvious that I've missed out and I have no choice but to move on or wait around just hoping they kick off. I hope they make adjustments to the way DE's are represented on the main map so that it's easy to see which in the zone are currently active (I don't believe they will do this however because it will damage their "explore and find" ideology).

If you're extremely unlucky I can imagine you could miss a lot of events by leaving too soon or arriving too late and that would be so unfortunate.

Someone posted two videos on youtube explaining dynamic events. When i was playing the BWE i didn't notice the things he explains. I'll be playing this game very differently the next BWE.

This guy has a bit of an accent, don't worry, you get used to it, the second video is subtitled.
