My favourite of yours nniicc is the last one and it's probably because it's the least pink lol.

I don't know there's something about using too much pink or purple in a GBLT logo that has the opposite effect for me. I prefer to stay with blues or reds as I feel they're nicer on the eyes.

It really is not just finding something that looks good but a balance between finding something that looks good but is also some-what unique to us. I had no idea our Emblem flashed up when you kill someone in WvW, that's an awesome feature.

The finisher is basically the emote of being downed.

A rank 80 structured PvP player will have a unique downed status as well.

However, when you are being killed you do not see the flag, since a giant dialog box pops up showing you what did the most damage. It's only the people around you that sees the logo.

I completely agree with you that it shouldn't be pink or something like that.

We're gay, not a sterotype.
I completely agree, not soo pink but should still stand out.

I think you have to have purchased the Eye of the North expansion. Then you have to be at least level 10 to get there.

But you get 3 points just for linking your accounts and there are cheap/quick ways to get a few more points.

You can check here for a guide: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guide_to_earning_Hall_of_Monuments_rewards

And here to check your current HoM points if any:

Hey everyone, I've role played via social networks (bebo, facebook, myspace) off and on for around 8 years including forums as well. I'd be interested in anything you come up with, please talk with me in-game when you're on!

I'm willing to role play in almost any environment so long as we 'try' and stay true to general canon (adding to it is fine).

Might I suggest we use facebook as a home and post updates here? We can make a group with Group-Chat for say a 'Starbase Stonewall' and those in the fleet (and out of it) can join with their various characters.

More, actually. PWE haven't figured out that foo.bar@gmail.com, fo.obar@gmail.com, f.oobar@gmail.com, and foob.ar@gmail.com are all the same account and all feed into foobar@gmail.com

(That's not my actual address.)

(Why, yes, I do have a shit-load of level 7 alts that live at SFA and farm free Doffs, why do you ask?)

I have 26 HoM points - trying for 30. I've maxed out mini's and I think I have an extra undedicated Fungal Wallow if someone wants it. Would add to the count if you're trying to hit the 20/30/40/50 marks. He is not unique or rare.

If anyone has any Destroyer or Oppressor weapons lying about they don't need for HoM i'll buy them.

Kerstov Sjet in game (GW1) if you need help with title runs, or anything..

Good luck!

EDIT: I have the following minis if anyone can use them. Siege Turtle, Jade Armor and Fungal Wallow. I also have extra tapestries if you want to just post in your HoM without running all the quests. And a few Hero Armor remnants for Hero armor points. Send me a PM here if you can use anything.

Something rainbow-ish would be cool too. How many colours does the editor allow in an emblem?

two in the front logo, one for the background

Nice, nniicc! all of these are really good.. particularly the top unicorn and all the hands with arrows.
If when we kill somebody in wvw, and our standard is shown, i think we need something that really sticks out, and these colors seem to do the trick.

I hope they'll add a lot more things to the editor... It's very limited for the moment.

Here are my attempts:

A lot of pink, because it's the gay colour. Somehow the unicorn seems very gay to me too. The clenched fist because of 'strength in diversity'. Swords in front of a brick wall, feels like stonewall vanguard to me.

Not meaning to get too in depth with the decision - but should there be a correlation between the image and what Stonewall Vanguard represents? Or do we just choose based on cool emblems?

I'm not opposed to either - but lean towards the emblem having a meaning to some degree.

With that said I ask those with more history in the Stonewall guilds - what does it mean to you?

"Stonewall" has it's meanings and history - but what about "Vanguard"?

Here are some definitions...

1. from Old French avant-garde, from avant- fore- + garde guard
2. the leading division or units of a military force
3. the leading position in any movement or field, or the people who occupy such a position: the vanguard of modern literature

And historical/cultural references: (there are better references I'm sure)
1. HMS Vanguard - any of several ships in the British navy
2. Star Trek: Vanguard, a series of novels about a space station called Vanguard
3. Vanguard, a character class in the Mass Effect series

Is there a symbol that's more appropriate? Is there an animal that represents better than others? Dragon, Phoenix, Unicorn? lol

Just food for thought and discussion

It is probably cliche and overused - but lions seem to be very vanguard-y:

Heya,

I did post up a thread about our emblem during one of the beta weekends .. here: http://stonewallvanguard.com/forums/divinitys-tavern/43981-guild-emblem-impromptu-design-contest-kind-of

I originally wanted to decide on an emblem before the game launches but I still think they'll be adding more options into the emblem creator (at the last beta there was a lot of duplicates). As such we'll have to unlock it and see what we can come up with.

Very slick and nice range of content. Moar science articles!

The article on exoplanets was just my favourite part of the whole magazine this time. I'm so glad Robert (AstroRobLA) was willing to write that for us. The good news is, he's also agreed to write another one for the next issue! :D

If anybody else has ideas for science / factual articles they'd like to contribute, I would love to have more of that in the magazine. So let me know!
