I'm still not sure how armour and weapons stats work in guild wars 2. As i understand it all same level gear has the same stats. A looted helmet, a crafted helmet and a dungeon helmet of level 35 all have the same stats but different skin. I assume the guild weapons and armour merchants will sell weapons and armour with the same stats but a different skin.

Yeah I'm sure you don't have to wear the bib lol. We have to spend influence to unlock Weapons and Armor merchants that have the guild emblem on them. Then you'll just an Transmogoificationunficationsuperduperskinswapper (name may differ in game) stone (which I think you buy from the gem store) to use the "skin" of the guild armor/weapon on whatever piece of armour you have that has the best stats.

As much as I share the hatred for bibs (I hated them in WoW!), I love having my emblem on my person. Dark age of Camelot you used to show your guild emblem on shields and cloaks and seeing an army of people all with the emblem proudly tattooed on their armour is a sight to behold.

I think we should unlock the emblem creator as soon as possible and I'll let you all have free run with it for a while and we'll try and come up with something we're all happy with. Then I think we should turn our attention to the Guild Bank (at least the smallest one) after that maybe we can focus on unlocking the armour and weapons merchants. To be honest I don't imagine many of us will want to spend gems every time we get a better stated piece of equipment to switch the "skin" and thus I think as long as we unlock them before we all start hitting level 80, it should be fine.

lol I'm sure they'll offer an option to hide it outside of PvP like they did in the original Guild Wars if anyone doesn't like the final decision. :) As sure as I am that there will be a ton more emblem options come August 25/28. I can't fathom why they would make 400+ different dyes but not more options for guild emblems :P

Seems like there will be plenty of time to play with the ingame editor and come up with a decision. We have to spend influence on Politics, the Guild Emblem, then after that - Guild Armor and Guild Weapons in order to display it (from what I've read). Not sure if you have to spend influence for it to show in WvW/PvP.

I've seen photos of where the emblems show up and I'm not sure I'm sold on wearing one now if it looks like a bib lol. Let's not look like we are going to all you can eat night at the Crab Shack :)

^ My Asura mesmer. You can compare the height with a Norn npc. I made my Asura the shortest and most slim I could in the character creation screen. I wonder if the norn npc was at full height or not.. lol

^ My first and last BWE characters selection screen. The Sylvari Elementalist you see is my new and updated look for my Elementalist and possibly all Sylvari future characters. The level6 was my first Sylvari look. I updated/replaced the look for the level1 Sylvari Elementalist. You cant see him well on the screen but he have red eyes and cat pupil. Giving him the look of a demon.

My Human,Norn looks like a little me in real life. More the human.

The Asura is my old look I used in beta.

The reason they are naked is I did gather all my gold before the BWE ends and turned it in gems. I dont expect it will carry to live GW2 but its worth trying.

All my characters will be short/most slim I can in the creation screen and dark skin color except my Human/Norn (skin wasnt dark enough for my taste so i tried to gave em my real life look instead.).

Reasons: Dark skin color = harder to spot night time.

Short/Slim = If i decide to do PvP (im mostly PvE but who knows maybe I change my mind) it is an advantage because its more annoying to fight against. Being short in some games is also an advantage like in WoW: A gnome can go easily in empty fireplaces or hide in a small place that other races cant because they are too big. I managed to hide/get out of combat in WoW using these tricks back when I had a gnome toon.

Obviously there might be more options at launch.. but as is we can have up to three colors. The primary image can have two colors, and the background image is one color.

I don't think we should rule out using pink completely (I love creativeness even if it's not to my particular tastes) but I think pinks and purples are a "less is more" kind of colour lol. Maybe offset it with white.

I wish there was an out-of-game logo designer we could mess around with, I don't want to wait till launch lol

Aww man, for a second I was expecting some news on the Extended Experience.

If you guys don't know and don't fancy reading the wall of text in the article I just linked then; The extended-experience was talking about by ArenaNet in depth on multiple different websites (and such) and basically it involves a tool set that will allow us to do quite a lot of social functions outside of the game.

Such as seeing who's online or using our guild chat. ArenaNet didn't want us to feel "not-connected" to each other when we were unable to get into game. Official apps would be released on to the Apple Store and the Google Play Store. This tool set would also allow us to use the chat system on our website, meaning that even if you were busy working you could still talk to us as if you're hunting down dragons.

It sounded amazing and I'm sure, if we ever get it, it will be but nobody has heard from the Extended Experience in quite some time :(

I looked in the iOS App Store last month and the apps available were.. less than statisfactory. I think that has to do with the restrictions of Apple's app guidelines more than anything. But, I have a Galaxy S III now so thanks for the link! ^_^

I was searching in the Google store and ran across a few decent apps that tie in with GW2. Mainly lots of theme makers and countdown apps - but there's a skill tool and a field guide that look promising.
