Being very youthful at heart by no means makes you immature....you missed the point. If everyone around you respects you then you are rightfully perceived as being mature...when you do something that would cause people to speak badly of you for lack of respect then you have done something immature. Thinking about robbing a bank doesn't make you a bank robber in the same respect feeling immature doesn't make a person immature as such...until you let it all hang out...then you get what you get.....labels...and not nice ones either. :)

At first i salvaged all blues and whites. I assumed i needed to do that to be able to craft. When i started crafting i noticed that the materials i was lacking (claws, scales, bone chips, venom sacs, totems, vials of blood) didn't come from salvage. When the trading post finally worked i noticed that ore, wood, ... isn't very expensive but the materials i am lacking are expensive.

So now i only salvage items marked as salvage. Greens, blues and whites are mostly vendor trash. I need the money to buy the rare materials on the AH. Before vendoring off a green i check the AH price. In the AH window you can see the vendor price when you hover over the item, so you don't need to write things down. The AH is available everywhere, so you only need to run to a trading post agent to pick up money or an item.

Because of the sales tax, the lowest selling price needs to be at least 15% higher than the vendor price to put it on offer at the AH. Otherwise you get more money by selling it to a vendor. Vendors are everywhere, you can even sell at a completed heart or a repair point.

Oddly enough almost all blue and green drops are sold on the AH for 1 copper more than their vendor price. This is the cheapest price at which you can put something on offer at the AH. That's a 15% loss to avoid having to run to a vendor. Most of the time hundreds of the same item are on offer a this vendor price plus one copper. So even if you put it on offer, i don't know if it would actually sell. The listing fee for unsold items is still 5%.

The crafted items on the other hand seem to be more rare. I've managed to sell several of them on the AH for a little more than the vendor price. Only a little more though. Crafting is and always will be a money drain. I like being able to craft my own gear though. Someone in guild chat showed me what my armour would look like if i got my crafting up to date. It looks better than the drops i'm wearing.

I don't know how the mystic forge works either. I put in some greens i couldn't use and got out a new green i couldn't use. Maybe the green i got was better than the greens i put in, i don't know. So i put the one i got from the forge in the guild bank, maybe it will be useful to someone else.

I have a very good memory of my childhood and teenage years. That said, I have a very strong memory of how mature my father was. He was a cruel and bigoted man, but he was never immature about it. Over the past few years though, as I have watched him age into his late 60s, his maturity has ebbed and he behaves like a 12 year old.

This is not something unique to my father, though. Our lives are rather circuitous; we begin life unable to walk, incontinent, frail, weak, emotionally stunted and with a brain that has yet to develop. We end our lives, if we live long enough, in much the same situation.

Of course, some people never really emotionally develop beyond their teenage years. Something not really that uncommon. There is a lot of facilitation in this, I feel, from the modern media. Immaturity and passive aggressive behaviour is still glamourised by movies and television. Sarcasm is funny on TV and films, as are overgrown children; and more and more people are being raised by TV. As a Gen X'r, born in the 70s, I had two parents who worked full time. For a large part of my childhood, being a latchkey kid, I was raised by the TV. Fortunately (and unfortunately) during the summer, my parents would take me to their office to keep an eye on me. (Hated that place).

Can't help you there buddy....I don't know anymore then you do about the Mystic Forge.

However, I sell blues and most greens to vendors...because when I do cross references between vendors and the Trading Post I find the variance to only be a few copper (generally speaking). However, I check all greens with vendors 1st, write down the amount for each on paper then run to the trading post and see what I can get there...so I bounce between each to maximize the $ for greens. I stopped salvaging most blues a long time ago and just sell them to vendors...because the market is already flooded with that same item or the mat created from them which makes getting a really good price for anything a tedious chore.

Inventory management is always a pain for me. I thought it would be helpful to discuss it a bit. I am wondering what other people's inventory practices are. In this game, many decisions are easy, but not all, for instance...

crafting resources go in the awesome collectible bank. Being able to right-click to deposit the collectible from anywhere in the world fills me with joy.

blue items and above
A trickier one for me is blue items (and I assume this will be an issue with greens as well):

Generally I have been salvaging them. But, many just become wood which is pretty boring and plentiful and wood is very cheap on the Trading Post.

Sometimes I will combine some at the mystic forge to see what I can get. By the way: Anyone know if that works based on your level or the level of the items you put in?

I could theoretically sell them on the Trading Post for a few copper because I am broke, but seems like maybe is missed opportunity.

I dunno. There may be other things I am unaware of.

I'm going to agree to disagree with you on a couple of points. /wink

I have met 5 year olds who are far more mature than some adults I've met. So life experience is not withstanding in so far as a definition of...maturity. Life goals and plans and the like are accomplishments...someone can accomplish something very important...and be a complete ass and very immature.

I loved this question by the way as I had to think about this for some time and I have come to the conclusion that maturity is a natural gift by way of genetics more than likely...very much the same way one is naturally humorous or their nature is to be helpful...this is what I mean when I call it a natural gift.

When maturity (their natural gift) is applied by said person of any given age, their maturity is evaluated by others and the inevitable outcome one desires is to be addressed or looked upon with respect in that you as a person elevated yourself above a situation that would normally be perceived as above your age or pay-grade sort-of-speak. Where in you are perceived by not only yourself as "mature" but also by the witnesses of your communication, actions or inaction's where the outcome is "respect."

Once you can look upon yourself with "self-respect" followed by the respect of others....you are now for that moment considered....Mature, at any age.

Disclaimer: Maturity is not a lifelong natural gift like having blue-eyes....you must work for respect to always be viewed as mature or you will from time to time (as we all have) been labeled immature.

To prove my theory, go to the Main Chat channel in GW2 and watch the comments. The first person to elevate themselves above the rest of the bs will be viewed by you with respect and then automatically labeled as "mature." Then the first person who says something that totally removes your respect for them...you will automatically label them as "immature." During this process you will not know how old these people are at all.

Case and point. :)

I think both your definitions are excellent.

For me, it’s also knowing about when to speak and when to keep quiet on an issue, and about knowing yourself well too. When people are aggravating you, or a situation is getting you down – maturity is knowing that it might be the way ‘you’ are perceiving the situation or person, and not the other way around, and being able to act in a positive way when you are feeling very negative.

I'm going to be traveling for a few weeks, so naturally I won't be online. Just making a note so I'm not booted for inactivity or anything. :S

Personal Log: Lt. Jorath Orenn (Acting Captain)

Ever since I was a child, I admired the brave officers of the Imperial Romulan Fleet. I watched them depart my homeworld in their great ships to embark on missions of exploration and defense in the name of Romulus. I wanted to BE one of those officers. I wanted to command one of those ships. Then IT happened. In one fell swoop my people were diminished and fractured. Many of the brave officers and magnificent ships perished in the cataclysm and those that remained were mere shells of their former selves. I had little family, even less pride, and absolutely nothing left to believe in.

Then, sometime later, Starfleet opened its doors to any and all that wanted to serve. I had always admired their commitment to helping my people recover from the disaster, even after centuries of suspicion and hostility. They had a mission I could join. I once again had brave officers to admire and grand ships of the line to dream of commanding. My being posted to the Sally Ride was the best thing that ever happened to me.

Fast forward to today: After all the dreaming and all the hard work, I finally got what I wanted: the chance to command a ship. I wasn’t exactly giddy, but I did have an understandable level of excitement and anticipation. People stood at attention and said “Aye, sir!” Trained men and women were following MY orders. I thought I could handle it. I thought we could make it through this and come out on top. I was wrong.

The best plan I could come up with to escape from the Klingons was to run at them head-on and blow up a shuttle behind us to push us away. A cadet would have been able to come up with something better then that. When it came down to it, I just made up a reckless plan on the spot and put the ship and her crew in danger. I learned a lesson today, and my fellow officers paid the price for it.

Before, we were heavily damaged and lost in enemy space. Now, we’re still heavily damaged, the enemy knows where we are, AND the crew has to clean up my mess. I just hope we can pick up the pieces quickly enough to stay one step ahead of the Klingons.

I can’t make any more mistakes. We can’t afford them.

Wow these are all so well designed! It's going to be a tough decision.

Majel Barret is my fixation .. well the later years with her and Odo on DS9 etc .. did you know there was a love triangle tween majel and nichelle nichols and gene . but nichelle broke it off so as not to hurt gene's career (cause of her color) and star trek .. I read that in tv guide many years ago . still strikes me to this day ...(and of course the first interacial kiss was star trek .. rock on)

It was extremely difficult to decide between me facing dragons, Kerstov and I running from angry chickens, or even Kerstov drinking some pirates under the table..but, in the end I had the pic the posed shot with me and my buddy :D
