So... I'm very excited. Regina has taken notice of our guild and sought out to contact us directly. I will need some Stonewall Vanguard members to help out with questions she may have for us, so if you'd like to contribute, please respond to this topic or complete this survey. I need members who are dedicated Guild Wars 2 players who have opinions and a desire to help ArenaNet out. Below is the letter I received:

9/8/13
Hi Elquin,

My name is Regina Buenaobra. I'm the North American Community Team Lead for Guild Wars 2.

We just celebrated our anniversary, and we want the next year to be even bigger and better than our first, and to that effect we would like to start an ongoing conversation with influential guilds about how they see the game, what are their favorite parts and what would make the game even more attractive.

As a first step, I would like to set up an IRC chat with guild leaders and some of our leading designers.

If you are interested in embarking on this journey with us, let me know, and I will follow up with more details.

If there is a different person within the guild leadership that I should be communicating with on this initiative, would you mind passing along their contact details to me? I considered filling in the contact form, but I was concerned that it wouldn’t be perceived as “legit,” which is why you’re getting this email directly from me.

Best,

--

I got another response from Regina... some good words for Stonewall Vanguard! Awesome job guys! We are being noticed by ArenaNet. :)

Hi Robert,

I’m so happy you’re interested giving us feedback and I really look forward to your input.

We’re in the process of organizing the logistics of the IRC chat, inviting folks, and so on, so as soon as I have details to share with you about that, I will pass them along to you.

Meanwhile, I would like to provide you with my Skype details for instant messaging. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to shoot me an IM on Skype at #########. I am usually available during Pacific Time office hours for questions, though I might not reply immediately if I am busy. I just wanted to give you an alternative point of contact if you just want a quick word.

And on a personal note, I play on Crystal Desert and I have often spotted members of Stonewall Vanguard running around in all areas of the game and I’ve noticed how helpful and cool your members are.

Looking forward to working with you.

Best,

--

Greetings,

For the next step in the ongoing conversation we hope to have with you, we’d like to invite you and other guild leaders to a Vent conversation with the Guild Wars 2 Lead Designer, Isaiah (Izzy) Cartwright and the Guild Wars 2 Lead Content Designer, Mike Zadorojny.

We’re proposing Tuesday, October 1 at 11:00 AM Pacific Time for this Vent chat. Please let me know whether this time will work for you.

If this time is not convenient we might be able to schedule a chat later that day to accommodate different time zones.

Thanks,

Hello Elquin,

Here is the information you will need to participate in the chat:

Chat: 11:00 AM PDT on Tuesday, October 1

Hostname or IP:
Port number:
Main password:

We look forward to your attendance.

Moving forward, I’d like to check in with you regularly to get any feedback you and your guild members have about the game releases. It doesn’t have to be an extensive email chain or anything. It could just be your high level thoughts about a release, for example. You don’t even necessarily need to stay on topic about a release. The point is that we’d like your feedback and opinions, so don’t hesitate to reach out and I’ll be communicating with you on a regular basis. J

Cheers,

When they were sketching they blatantly showed the water bottle before showing the person sketching. And then they showed the safe designers back in the room and I swear they focused in on the bottle of water Dom was drinking. I understand that they need to pay the bills, but damn.

When managing bookmarks, it took me a sec to realize I had to click the ^ More button to expose the Default Channel option. Also, I like the Connect on Startup option in that same window to immediately enter the channel upon launching TeamSpeak.

I fortunately missed it.

Are the product placements always this absurd? I don't remember them being quite so bad in Season 4 (the only other season I've watched).

Teamspeak

September 08 2013
Please click here for the TeamSpeak Feedback Survey.

We went over the pros and cons of Vent and Teamspeak 3 during our officers meeting and both came out pretty close. We tested out Teamspeak during our guild missions tonight and I believe the experience was really positive. Going forward, we'll be sticking to Teamspeak unless we run into hiccups. The ability to work together as a community with other guilds members through Teamspeak is a huge advantage. If you are unable to use Teamspeak 3 or you're running into trouble, please post a response in this forum or message me on the site or in-game. I want to make sure everyone is able to use it before we've completely committed to the change.

We're encouraging everyone to download and use Teamspeak 3. You are not required to talk, but it helps to listen during guild missions or other GW2 events.

Please see the updated New Member Handbook with TeamSpeak instructions.
(Download the document to your computer for the Table of Contents and formatting to work correctly.)

Quick Setup

When starting TS3, click "Connection" in the top left corner.
Server: ts.stonewallgaming.net
Nickname: [SWVG] User handle
Server Passowrd: Stonewall
(Leave everything else as is and click "Connect")

You will then be logged into Teamspeak 3 and in the lobby.

If you are playing Guild Wars 2, you should be using the "Dwaynas Tavern" channel.

Once you are logged into the correct channel, you can click on "Bookmarks" and then click on the "More" button. Where it says "Default Channel" click the refresh button to the right to populate the field as shown in the picture below. Select "Connect on Startup" to enter this channel when starting TeamSpeak automatically.

Click on "Apply" and then "Ok" to accept. Now, whenever you start up Teamspeak, you will be logged into the SWVG channel immediately.

:) Thanks Izzy I am so excited about this new venture and look forward to assisting new members *existing, returning and new players alike*. We have a bunch of stuff planned.

I would definitely welcome anyone that enjoys Star Trek Online, enjoys helping others, whether its helping new or returning players take their first voyages into space or sharing advise and tips that you've picked up over time ... these are just a few of the things this new 'Welcome Committee' will undertake.

If you think you would be interested please contact me vis message here or ingame @sinner68

"Welcoming Committee" Launches!

September 08 2013
Good news everyone!

As some of you are aware, Stonewall Fleet is a very large extended family of Trekkies both near and far. We are growing every day as more and more of our brothers and sisters join the ranks! One of the great responsibilities of all Fleet Leaders is the welcoming and sharing of knowledge to our new fleet mates.

As the Fleet grows, so do the amount of individuals that need our help, guidance, and friendly words. Because of the overwhelming size of Stonewall there have been some that have fallen through the cracks over time. This was never intentional, and we are always looking for ways to possibly seal those cracks for good.

Today I am happy to announce the first steps of those cracks being sealed has begun! The "Welcoming Committee" was created with the idea that there was no greater resource to help shore up the ship than those that were sailing along in it!

The "Welcoming Committee" is a non-leadership, fleet member run group of individuals that have a passion for Star Trek Online, and a love for helping others. They demonstrate the best that this fleet stands for, and will help facilitate its increasing growth into the future.

I am very happy to announce that Geo (@Sinner68) has agreed to step down from his position as Fleet Captain, in order to take on this new dynamic role as Chief Petty Officer of the "Welcoming Committee". I can think of no better person within this fleet that him to lead this new group. I am very sad to see him go form my department. He was the very first fleet captain to a young admiral fresh out of the admirals academy. I am gratified to know that he will not be far. The "Welcoming Committee" will be directly overseen by the Fleet Morale Department, and will be an extension of the Fleet Leadership as a whole.

Geo has a fantastic team already with the following three inaugural members:

@ricksawyer
@Phoenixoryon
@Domin8orify

These four individuals will be around in game, in vent, and in the fleet forums to help, aid, and support all of you. They have a lot of great things planned for the coming months, so keep an eye out for them!

Please join me in congratulation them and welcoming them into their new roles!

Admiral MrIzzy

P.S. If you are interested in joining the "Welcoming Committee" please reach out to Chief Geo directly in game or via the fleet website.

They need to build better projectors and or video cards to be able to truly make this setup work for me. I just can't stand the low framerates that projector setups have when gaming... I'm super impressed that this guy put this together tho! I love the full peripheral views in sector space, but if you noticed he had to look to the extreme edges to see the actual game interface, especially during battles, when party info/looting/info screens are all over the place... knowing the way I play I'd get whiplash! I mean it would spoil me in a way that I wouldn't be able to ever play anything else ever again! I don't want to ruin playing games on my phone while waiting for the bus... or my DS when on vacation!
