I may check this out once my schedule simmers down come December. In 2004 I played an online Star Trek RPG. I forget even who this was through--name was probably something like star-fleet.com or something. But then I moved to Minnesota and landed a full-time job and I didn't have time for it anymore. For a few months next year, I will have some time. :-)

By the way, Ylis's first officer, Barek Jaxon, was the name of my main character in the RPG. :-)

So I did a bit of playing about and the USS Argo, a Nova class Science vessel has been commissioned with Dirlettia Furlo as captain. As of now we cant really get anywhere and I have no idea how to bring the ship into the fleet, but should anybody wish to interact with it please feel free to do so. If anybody has a toon which joins the crew I will even consider trying to get a boff to rename to that player as well. At some point I will actually make the Toon in STO to give it a little more realism though I doubt she will get out of the Rhode Island class for a very long time.

I am pretty sure our best way of doing future fleet bits 'n' bobs is actually through chat in STO. For the record I am not so vain as to be a fleet admiral or such other high rank to begin with on a vessel of this magnitude - LTC seemed about right and even fits with STO ranks.

Ok, I'm definitely getting some Stargate Universe flashbacks and this new carrier reminds me of an Ori ship. It's bridge reminds me of the Engineer ship in Prometheus. I can see some real potential for the 2 universal consoles on my Wells. Can't wait till it launches!

Obelisk Carrier

This strange and powerful ship is from an ancient culture that has had limited contact with the Alpha Quadrant. Although the ship is not Elachi in design, it shares enough similarities with their technology to have a common origin.

Design Notes

The Obelisk Carrier is among the largest playable starships in Star Trek Online. It is an engineering-centric carrier with very high hull strength and an abundant amount of seating for engineering bridge officers and engineering consoles. This hulking carrier comes equipped with Obelisk Swarmer hangar pets in its two hangar bays.

This ship can be earned by completing the “Sphere of Influence” feature episode before server maintenance starts on December 5, 2013. After this time, members of Fleets who have completed Tier 1 of the main track of the Fleet Spire Outpost will gain access to purchase the Obelisk Carrier.

This starship will be available for purchase from the Lobi store for 800 Lobi Crystals. It receives a +10% bonus to its shields modifier and hull strength, an additional Engineering console modification, and has its Lieutenant Engineering bridge officer seat upgraded to a Lieutenant Universal bridge officer station. In addition, the Advanced Obelisk Carrier comes equipped with the Reactive Anti-Proton Cascade Emitter universal console.

Obelisk Swarmers

The Advanced Obelisk Carrier comes standard with 2 hangar bays of Obelisk Swarmers. Obelisk Swarmers are armed with Focused Antiproton Arrays, Antiproton Defense Arrays, Transphasic Torpedoes and can use Beam Array Overload. Antiproton Defense Arrays fire a beam every few seconds at the nearest enemy target. More Advanced Obelisk Swarmers are capable of firing this special beam array more often. While this weapon deals lower damage than a standard beam array, it has a significantly higher chance of hitting its target. These Obelisk Swarmers may only be used on the Obelisk Carrier and Advanced Obelisk Carrier.

Obelisk Swarmers are small, unmanned drones that quickly close with their target and harass them with powerful antiproton beam attacks and transphasic torpedoes at very close range. They can deal a tremendous amount of damage very quickly, but are highly vulnerable to area of effect attacks.

Swarmers have been sighted throughout the far reaches of the galaxy, most recently in the Gamma Quadrant.

Both versions of the Obelisk come equipped with standard Obelisk Swarmers. Advanced and Elite versions of these fighters, which can be equipped on any ship with a hangar bay, can be purchased by advancing your Spire Fleet Holding.

Ancient Obelisk Technology Item Set

This special item set has three pieces: the Reactive Antiproton Cascade Emitter universal console, the Omni-Directional Antiproton Beam Array and the Obelisk Subspace Rift Warp Core. The console is standard on the Advanced Obelisk Carrier and the beam array and warp core are rewards for completing Sphere of Influence.

The console can only be equipped on the Obelisk Carrier and the Advanced Obelisk Carrier. The beam array can be equipped on any starship, and the warp core can be equipped on any starship with a matter/antimatter warp core.

Reactive Antiproton Cascade Emitter Console

The Advanced Obelisk Carrier comes standard with a Reactive Antiproton Cascade Emitter universal console. This console has two functions. When activated, it overrides the sensors of your target (and enemies near your target), forcing them to target your ship for a short period of time (only applicable in PvE). During this time, your ship gains a large damage resistance and shield hardening increase and after a short time you will counter enemy energy attacks with a potent defensive system that fires bursts of Antiproton energy at attacking vessels.
This console may only be equipped on the Obelisk Carrier and the Advanced Obelisk Carrier and comes standard on the Advanced Obelisk Carrier.
Omni-Directional Antiproton Beam Array

The Omni-Directional Antiproton Beam Array offers a 360-degree firing arc, in addition to being able to utilize the standard functions of Antiproton Beam Array weapons.
This space weapon may be equipped on any starship and is a reward for completing the Sphere of Influence featured episode.
Obelisk Subspace Rift Warp Core

The Obelisk Subspace Rift Warp Core is a type of advanced Warp Core initially discovered on the Obelisk Carrier. It has potent Slipstream technology, creating and utilizing rifts in subspace for rapid travel with a higher degree of maneuverability than standard Slipstream drives can offer. In addition, it significantly boosts your ship's maximum Auxiliary power output.
This level-less warp core is compatible with any starship that can equip a matter/antimatter warp core and is a reward for completing the Sphere of Influence featured episode.
Set Bonuses:

2-piece set bonus: Focused Antiproton Emitters
A starship that has two pieces of the Ancient Obelisk Technology Set equipped gains a 10 percent bonus to Antiproton damage.
3-piece set bonus: Enhanced Carrier Synergy
Activating any Emergency Power ability while having all three set pieces equipped causes your hangar pets to activate a weaker version of the same power.

NOTE: The above stats for both ships and items are subject to change.

Unique Bridge

The Obelisk Carrier and Advanced Obelisk Carrier are equipped with a unique bridge. While visiting your bridge, you will also be able to access your Account Shared Bank, move into a Small Craft, and contact different ship departments for Duty Officer Assignments.

We hope you enjoy these extraordinary carriers and look forward to seeing you flying one in-game!

Guys: Run Tac's Preferably with Breenships, bug ships or something =- too.

Pick a targeted direction for all 4. Position NWSE and have a floater. The floater is responsible for picking up ze slack. Save one from each confrontation to regen the freighter hull, push it away with TBR.

Run Universal Consoles such as iso metric with tac's + multiple targets and insane damage... Save this till the bigger groups.

TBR + Scatter x2 v2&3, Torp spread x2. Run all DHCS on the front, possibly one torp (not plasma) and remove mines (Floater could do the mines). GW GW GW GW! Run Grav well u need to keep em away. Tbr is used to push the last one "safety" Run Jevonite Ablative past wave 6. Keep Emergency to shields + RSP and generally any resistance you can mount including Hazard.

Disable those damn turrets, instruct everyone from their directions to do this and the floater pushes away the final baddie. When the turret/s is down get the NSWE crew to heal the freight. When the freight is up too 100% proceed.

Also not to be cheeky, but u actually need decent builds here with the skills in the right places and a well coordinated team or it's just not gonna happen. You also must run the Romulan Crit boffs, too make it easier!

Hey guys,

After speaking with Nick, I wanted to take this opportunity to get reacquainted with the Stonewall Fleet community and answer any questions you guys may have so that we don't have to play a game of telephone :-)

A little backstory - for almost ten years now, I have been an active member of the Star Trek RPG (simming) community. I ran an Intrepid-class simulation called the USS Frontier, and my main character was a stubborn old El-Aurian Ambassador named Mordred Ocal (pronounced "oh-CALL").

A few years after I started simming, Star Trek Online was slated to come out, and I was beside myself with excitement. I joined during the earliest Beta I could get into and have pretty much been throwing my money at them ever since. I've really enjoyed the game, but I was always a bit disappointed that it wasn't the opportunity I had always hoped for - the chance to actually develop and directly impact the evolution of the game.

I knew, starting out, that what I was attempting was going to either be insanely difficult or impossible, but I was a hobby web designer at the time, and used it as an excuse to train myself in the art of development. I learned so much, I was even able to get a job working on websites full-time! This, in turn, gave me even more experience as I redoubled my efforts on the Future Fleets project.

So here we are now. One portion of the site is released and ready for active use - the Simm Database. This feature will mostly benefit the RPG community, but I am really proud to have Stonewall Fleet registered as our first STO-based fleet since it never really hurts to tell more people about this organization (especially given the number of LGBTQA people I've simmed with over the years).

The other main portion of the site is more catered toward my ultimate goal - a self-sustaining, community-managed version of the Star Trek Universe. Nearly all of the ground work is complete, I just have a few more systems to add over the next month before all of the "core" features I want to have in place are finished.

I freely admit that, starting out, the site may not "wow" your average web visitor. It's not flashy and overly interactive, but I hope that it is a start.

With respect to concerns that we will eventually monetize the game somehow, I want to emphasize that this is the last thing we want to do. I am personally against it, and to be honest, I'm not sure we can even legally appear to profit without risking action from CBS. At most, I would ask for donations if the costs of hosting became burdensome and beyond my budgeted annual allocation.

I hope this helps to set the record straight, and I thank you all for taking a look. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions or concerns, and I look forward to working with as many of you as I can both in STO and on the Future Fleets site.
