Agent Pertwee

Being a liberated Borg I always knew the collective could one day assimilate me again but I had no idea that someone else had managed to add their own agenda to my awakening individuality.  I awoke in the middle of the night, urged to go to the holodeck, upon entering there was a program running. It was a strange familiar place I recognized it as the base I was recovered and my Borg identity lost.  2 of 5 secondary sensor regulator to Cube 7823 was lost here and Jon Pertwee was reborn.

“Many of us don’t remember where we were born, or reborn as is your case, what does it feel like to be back here?” came a voice from behind the display boards.  “Thank you for coming, not that you really had a choice, sorry about that but I needed cooperation and activating the program we slipped into your leftover Borg implants was a guarantee.”

“What do you want?  Why did you do this to me?” I asked.

“I’m Grant with Section 31, you’re out in the frontier and we need you to investigate something for us, there’s an automated weapons platform leftover from T’Kon empire near the Last Outpost, investigate it and see if we can use it.  I’ll arrange orders to put you in the area. Also to make it easier on you, you’ll go back to bed now forget we had this little talk, until I see you again.” With that I left the holodeck and returned to bed.

I awoke the next morning feeling not right, I had this strange dream, this gorgeous man in a red leather suit telling me to do something but the details were fuzzy.  I got to the bridge to find new orders from Starfleet diverting us to an area outside of the Delphi Ardu System. Odd what’s left of the T’Kon Empire is in that area I thought to myself.  “0718 keep us out of the system we don’t need a repeat of what happened to the Enterprise here. Deploy a series of class 3 probes to investigate the area also. While we are here I’m going to take the Captain’s Yacht out it’s due for its quarterly inspection flight and it’ll be a few hours before we have data results.”

“Yes Captain, do you want anyone to accompany you?”

“No i’ll be fine. Thank you though.”  with that I left the bridge and left in the captain’s yacht.  The holographic systems in the ship activate and agent Grant was sitting next to me.

“Glad to see you got away the platform is about half a light year in that direction,” Grant pointed so I set course in that direction.  “We have a few minutes and I know you have questions, go ahead and ask.”

“How long will this programming last?.”

“I know your implants will continue to adapt so I figure from activation to adapting about 4 days.”

“How did you get started in this agency?”

“I wanted to secure the future of the Federation and my husband was in the agency.  I took his place after he died.”

“Sorry to hear that, I was engaged before the assimilation, he was lost with everyone who wasn’t assimilated on the Galileo.”

“I know, I am very familiar with your past, we needed to know everything we could about you, though the Borg assimilation did take 4 years of your life away and you aren’t that person anymore.”

“Approaching the platform, there’s no power readings, looks adrift.” I scanned the platform in depth, “Looks like it’s been picked apart over the years also, the power source is missing, so are parts of the weapon systems and targeting systems.”

“Well that’s disappointing, a T’kon weapon would have been very useful.  Beam the computer core on board and destroy it please. I don’t want anything to be used by anyone.”

I beamed the core on board and fired a torpedo.  “That might take some explaining to my ship, there’s no way the explosion would be missed.”

“You can head back now, I’m glad you were able to assist with this.  I’ll be going now.”

“Grant, one day I hope to see you again, I do have a lot of questions.”

“You’ll see me again, I may have other missions in the future.”

“Until next time handsome.” I winked as Grant gave me a smirk and wink then disappeared.  I returned to my ship and passed off the explosion as a test of the weapons system. We completed our scans of the system and I wondered what mysteries awaited us ahead, and if Grant would show up again in the future.
